Trained at the École des Arts Appliqués in Paris, Roger Capron settled in Vallauris in 1946, taking part in the revival of French ceramics alongside Picasso. A prolific creator and visionary entrepreneur, he transformed an artisan workshop into an internationally renowned manufacture, making his name an essential signature of Mediterranean living.
The Aesthetic: The Poetry of Materials and Motifs
The Capron style stands out for its constant inventiveness and a deep love of clay. His creations often incorporate botanical or geometric motifs, pressed directly into the clay, creating a unique tactile and visual link between furniture and nature.
