Pair of Brass "Pineapple" Ice Buckets, in the Style of Mauro Manetti, 1970s.

This pair of bar accessories belongs to the luxury metalwork and tableware of the 1970s. The structural design of each piece takes the shape of a pineapple, composed of two solid brass hemispheres that interlock at mid-height. The surface of the body is entirely chased with a geometric network (lozenge crosshatches) strictly imitating the texture of the fruit's rind. The upper section, serving as a removable lid, is crowned with an imposing tuft of serrated cast brass leaves.

The pineapple motif, a classic symbol of hospitality since the 18th century, experienced a major surge in popularity in 1970s decorative arts driven by the Hollywood Regency movement.
