This large freestanding mirror, traditionally called a "psyché" or cheval mirror, features an architectural structure made entirely of brass. The tubular frame rises on a wide base ensuring perfect stability. The two vertical uprights enclose a large adjustable mirror plate, framed by a slender brass molding. Technically, the mirror is mounted on a transverse axis allowing for a smooth tilt. The angle can be precisely adjusted and locked according to the user's needs using two cast brass side tightening knobs.

This design aligns with the neoclassical revival of the 1970s. During this period, French high-end decoration brought this courtly piece of furniture (which originated during the Directoire and Empire periods) back into fashion by refining it through the exclusive use of polished brass.
