PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This monumental two-tier coffee table is a distinguished example of French bronze craft at its finest, signed by the sculptor and bronzier Jacques Théophile Lepelletier and bearing the foundry stamp of Broncz. The architectural frame in polished bronze supports two generous glass shelves whose corners are carefully rounded, softening the rectilinear geometry of the composition and giving it an elegance that is entirely characteristic of the best French production of the 1970s. The contrast between the warm lustre of the polished bronze and the transparent clarity of the glass creates a refined visual interplay that allows the table to harmonise with a wide variety of interiors.
Jacques Théophile Lepelletier was a French sculptor and bronze specialist active in the second half of the twentieth century, whose signed works attest to the continuing vitality of French bronze craftsmanship in the post-war era. The Broncz foundry stamp provides an important mark of quality and provenance, confirming that the metalwork was executed to the high standards of a recognised specialist atelier. The presence of both a signature and a foundry mark elevates this piece above the anonymous production of the period and confirms its status as a deliberately authored work of decorative art.
Presented in very good vintage condition, consistent with its age and provenance. W. 121 cm × D. 61 cm × H. 37 cm.
