Large Chrome Console

Large chrome console. Its generous proportions and the gleam of the chromed metal give it a strong presence, whether against an entrance-hall wall, in a living room or behind a sofa. Circa 1970.

Chrome, a material characteristic of 1970s furniture, reflects the decade's attraction to shiny surfaces, clean lines and industrial materials brought into the home. Its reflective surface plays with the light and colours of the room, allowing the console to fit into a contemporary interior as well as a more classical setting. It offers a broad display surface for lamps, books and works of art.
