PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This inventive fireplace companion set combines four implements — poker, tongs, shovel, and brush — with a boldly conceived cage-form stand built from a grid of vertical and horizontal black lacquered bars. The stand is designed for dual use: it can be placed freestanding on the floor or fixed flat against a wall, adapting seamlessly to different interior configurations. A chrome arched carrying handle crowns the assembly, adding a note of reflective contrast to the otherwise monochrome black ironwork.
The cage structure is itself a design statement, transforming the conventional companion stand into an architecturally conceived object. The regular rhythm of the bars and the precise right-angled geometry of the frame reflect the systematic approach to form that characterised French industrial design of the 1960s and 1970s, when designers applied grid-based thinking to even the most traditional categories of domestic furnishing.
The individual tools are worked in black lacquered metal with chrome accents, their forms simplified to clean geometric essentials that complement the structural logic of the cage stand. This set represents a particularly self-assured example of French modernist fireplace design, in which functional considerations and formal ambition are held in confident equilibrium.
