PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This floor lamp combines brushed steel and brass, two metals whose cool and warm tones play off one another. Its hunting horn decoration draws on the neoclassical ornamental repertoire, in which hunting attributes sit alongside trophies and musical instruments. It stands 174 cm high on a footprint of 60 × 60 cm. French work, circa 1940, in the style of Maison Charles, the Parisian house known for its metal lighting. In this period, decorators readily revisited the classical vocabulary of the eighteenth century, pairing it with more modern materials such as steel to create pieces that are both restrained and decorative. Placed beside a sofa, a reading chair or a bookcase, this floor lamp provides ambient light while lending the room an elegant silhouette.
