PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This floor lamp in bronze and brass is treated in the faux-bamboo manner: the metal takes on the appearance of segmented bamboo stems, a decorative motif popular since the eighteenth century and widely reinterpreted in the twentieth. French work by Jacques Adnet, circa 1940. It stands 168 cm high on a footprint of 55 × 55 cm. Rendered in bronze, faux bamboo reflects the period's taste for a controlled exoticism, placed at the service of clean lines and fine materials in the spirit of Art Deco. The warm tones of the bronze and brass sit equally well with antique furniture and with a contemporary interior. An ideal reading light, this floor lamp naturally finds its place beside a sofa, an armchair or a bookcase.
