PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This floor reading lamp features a turned mahogany shaft, punctuated with gilt brass rings and topped with a finely chased pinecone finial. The articulated arm, adjustable in height along the shaft and ending in a drop-shaped finial, allows the light to be precisely directed. The whole rests on an elegant brass tripod base with sabre legs. The conical black shade with a gilt interior diffuses a warm light.
The combination of mahogany and gilt brass, the tripod base and the pinecone belong to the English Neoclassical repertoire brought back into fashion in the 1970s, in the spirit of the library light fittings of the great decorating houses.
Condition report: Good general condition. Mahogany with a fine patina, even gilt brass. A warm reading lamp, perfect beside an armchair in a library or a study.
