PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The slender gilt bronze shaft faithfully reproduces the nodes and internodes of bamboo, chased with regularity over its entire height. It rests on a circular base with concentric moulded tiers in successive rings, of beautiful visual stability. The black fabric drum shade lined with gold diffuses a warm and enveloping light.

Gilt faux bamboo is one of the signatures of Maison Baguès, the Parisian reference in gilt bronze and brass, which declined this chinoiserie motif on its lighting from the 1940s-1960s, winning over the great decorators and nourishing the Neoclassical taste.

Condition report: Good overall condition. Gilt bronze with a warm and even patina, shade in fine condition. An elegant floor lamp that will warm the corner of a living room or the reading nook of a library.
