PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This elegant pair of occasional tables embodies the quintessence of 1970s Italian chic. Strictly architectural in form, each piece is elevated by a luxurious burl walnut veneer, selected for the richness of its grain and swirling organic patterns. The front is organized around three stacked drawers, offering highly functional storage.
The genius of Willy Rizzo—the famous Dolce Vita photographer turned mastermind designer for the international jet set—lies in this striking contrast between the organic warmth of precious wood and the industrial sleekness of metal. Here, gilt metal gives the piece its geometric rhythm: a solid plinth at the base that creates a floating effect, a thin flat band highlighting the top, and discreet rectangular pulls in the center of each drawer. These pieces, both timeless and authoritative, will perfectly flank a bed as nightstands, or sit beautifully at the ends of a contemporary sofa.
Condition report: Very good overall condition. The burl walnut varnish has retained a beautiful gloss, with minor signs of use appropriate for its age. The metallic elements show a slight, natural vintage patina. The drawers slide smoothly.
