PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This magazine rack features a varnished wood top with rounded sides, topped with a horseshoe-shaped brass grip handle punctuated with decorative studs. Beneath the top, two soft compartments in black leather underlined with light topstitching hold magazines and newspapers. The brass structure, with partially twisted uprights, rests on curved scrolled feet.
The horseshoe handle and the topstitched leather refer to the equestrian world dear to Jacques Adnet, a major figure of 1950s French decor, who raised leather sheathing to the rank of decorative art, notably in his collaborations with Hermès; this piece belongs fully to his style.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Brass with a fine patina, even varnished wood top, soft leather compartments showing a slight patina of use, intact topstitching. A charming living-room accessory, beside an armchair or a sofa.
