PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This characterful mirror is distinguished by its frame of rose-salmon glazed ceramic tiles, carefully assembled in the artisanal spirit typical of French production from the 1960s–1970s. Each slightly textured tile radiates a warm, muted tone that lends the whole a strong decorative presence, somewhere between deliberate primitivism and ceramic sensibility.

The practice of ceramic-framed mirrors enjoyed considerable popularity in post-war France, driven by the dynamism of regional workshops — Vallauris, Aubagne, Anduze — and by decorators' desire to reintroduce raw materials into the contemporary interior. The maker's mark visible on the back attests to this piece's workshop provenance.

A functional and decorative object alike, ideally placed in an entrance hall, bathroom, or corridor to bring warmth and character. French work, circa 1970.
