PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A highly refined set of three graduated nesting tables in the distinctive manner of Guy Lefèvre, whose celebrated work for Maison Jansen in the 1970s defined the apogee of French high-style modernist furniture. Each table in the nest shares the same vocabulary: a frame of brushed steel finished in a warm golden tone, its flat-bar sections meeting at precise right-angled corners and edged around the top surface with a continuous row of fine studs or bosses — the same signature detail seen on the Jansen side tables of the period, here applied to all three tables in the set with absolute consistency of execution.

The smoked glass tops add a further layer of sophistication, their grey-tinted transparency allowing the metal frames below to read through the surface and creating a layered visual depth that plain clear glass could not achieve. The graduate sizing of the three tables is precisely calibrated so that they nest without gap beneath one another, presenting as a single cohesive form when stored together and separating into three independent pieces of considerable individual elegance when deployed.

The largest table measures 56 cm wide, 41.5 cm deep, and 35.5 cm in height — a versatile low side table height that works alongside a sofa or low armchair. The two smaller tables can be drawn out to serve additional guests or returned to their nesting position when not in use, making the set as practical as it is beautiful.

In excellent condition, with the characteristic warm patina of aged gilt-steel and the smoked glass tops sound and intact. A rare and complete set strongly associated with one of the defining figures of the French 1970s interior.
