PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A pair of large decorative gouaches, both signed Tony Warren. The first depicts a reclining nude woman with a tiger; the second brings together a tiger and wild geese. The two compositions answer one another through the recurring figure of the tiger and may be hung side by side or on either side of a room. Circa 1980.
Gouache, an opaque water-based paint, allows dense, matt fields of colour well suited to large decorative compositions. The tiger, paired here first with the female figure and then with wild geese, belongs to an animal and exotic repertoire long appreciated in interior decoration. Their scale makes these two works well able to enliven a wall in a living room, hallway or dining room.
