PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A charming and characterful rattan drinks trolley in the manner of Colette Audoux and André Minet, the celebrated French design duo who elevated rattan to a material of true artistic refinement in post-war French interiors. This piece exemplifies the distinctive vocabulary of the Audoux-Minet atelier, combining skilled rattan craftsmanship with a whimsical elegance drawn from the natural material.

The upper tier takes the form of an oval woven basket body with interlaced rattan sides, providing a secure enclosure for bottles and glassware. The large spoked rattan wheels — a hallmark detail of the Audoux-Minet trolley — are positioned to the front, while smaller castors to the rear allow for easy manoeuvrability. The curved arched handle at the back is ergonomically formed in bent rattan poles.

The open lower shelf provides additional serving or storage space. Throughout, the construction demonstrates the confident and practised hand typical of Audoux-Minet’s production, with the natural honey tone of the rattan lending warmth and lightness to any interior.

A highly desirable and collectible piece, in very good condition consistent with age and use.
