PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This floor lamp features a shaft in amber Bakelite with warm caramel nuances, punctuated with gadrooned gilt brass balusters that elegantly rhythm the column. It rests on a circular base in moulded brass, borne by small claw feet — a classic detail full of character. The black tapered shade with a gilt interior diffuses a warm light.

This combination of amber Bakelite and gilt brass is characteristic of lighting of the 1940s, a period when this modern material with the appearance of amber married the neoclassical vocabulary of the bronze-makers, in the spirit of the refined productions of the period.

Condition report: Good general condition. Sound Bakelite with a fine amber polish, gilt brass with an even patina; shade in fine condition. Wiring to be checked before use. A warm and elegant floor lamp, perfect in a sitting room or an entrance.
