PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This side table features a quadrangular gilt bronze structure whose uprights, entirely chased with tiered palms overlapping in the manner of palm leaves, are topped with seed finials. Two smoked glass tiers, set within moulded frames, articulate the height and offer a double display surface with amber reflections.

This chased palm decoration is one of the signatures of Maison Baguès, the Parisian reference in gilt bronze since the 19th century, whose occasional furniture with palm motifs is among the most emblematic of the taste that would inspire Neoclassicism. The quality of the chasing justifies the attribution to the house.

Condition report: Good overall condition. Bronze with fine uniform gilding, chasing crisp and clean, smoked glass possibly showing likely surface micro-scratches inherent to use. A precious side table, alongside a sofa or as a bedside table of character.
