PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This coffee table features a rectangular smoked glass top borne by a brass structure whose corners are adorned with finely chased ram's heads, the antique motif par excellence. The tapering legs, punctuated with rings, are joined on the short sides by X-shaped stretchers and end in flared shoes.

The ram's head, borrowed from the Greco-Roman repertoire, is one of the favourite motifs of Maison Ramsay, the Parisian decorating house founded in the 1930s, famous for its gilt metal furniture of neoclassical inspiration which is among the most elegant French creations of the period.

Condition report: Good overall condition. Brass with a beautiful even gilt patina, crisp chasing, the smoked glass possibly showing probable surface micro-scratches inherent to use. A coffee table of character that will structure a classic or contemporary sitting room with refinement.
