This large wrought iron wall sconce makes a clear statement on the wall thanks to its generous dimensions: 51 cm wide, 29 cm deep and 35.5 cm high. French work, circa 1950. Wrought iron, worked hot, offers robust, graphic lines that suit a rustic interior as well as a more contemporary setting. In the mid-twentieth century, French decorative ironwork remained very present in the furnishing of houses, entrance halls and staircases, carrying on a long-standing craft with renewed forms. Offered singly, this sconce can light an entrance, a landing, a corridor or a dining room wall, or complement a group of iron fixtures.
