PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Napoleon III jewellery box in black lacquered wood and bevelled glass, with mother-of-pearl inlay and brass trim. The black lacquer ground brings out the sheen of the mother-of-pearl and the golden line of the brass trim, while the bevelled glass catches the light. Measuring 36 cm wide, 28 cm deep and 20.5 cm high, the box is both practical and decorative. French work.

The Napoleon III taste favoured objects combining lacquered or ebonised wood, mother-of-pearl and brass, in a spirit of refinement and contrasting materials.
