PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A rattan coffee table, made circa 1950. Rattan, a supple yet strong cane from climbing palms, can be bent with heat and then assembled, producing structures that are both light and sturdy. It gives this table an airy silhouette and a warm, natural tone that pairs easily with seating in the same material or with more classical furniture.
Rattan furniture enjoyed great favour in the mid-twentieth century, first on verandas, in conservatories and holiday homes, then in town interiors drawn to its relaxed character. Easy to move, this square coffee table suits a living room, a veranda or a bedroom, where it brings a natural, easy-going note.
