PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This elegant two-tier coffee table represents the height of French modernist design circa 1970, combining polished chrome-plated steel architecture with generous panes of clear glass to achieve a look of sophisticated lightness. Four substantial square-section chrome column legs support the structure at each corner, rising cleanly from a square chrome footplate to a corner bracket fitted with decorative bolted detailing — a refined industrial touch entirely in keeping with the period’s aesthetic.
The two tiers of the table — both fitted with clear glass panels — are connected by a continuous perforated chrome rail that runs along all four sides at both levels, lending a rhythmic visual texture to the otherwise minimalist silhouette. The glass sits flush within the chrome framework, maximising the sense of transparency and allowing the table to read as an almost weightless object in any interior setting.
With its low profile of just 36 centimetres and its generous rectangular footprint of 125 by 65 centimetres, the table is perfectly proportioned for a seating group, offering practical surface area on both levels. The lower tier is ideally suited for storing books, magazines or decorative objects, while the upper glass surface provides a clean, reflective plane for display.
In excellent vintage condition, the chrome retaining a strong, lustrous polish characteristic of high-quality French production from the period. A versatile and timeless piece, equally at home in a modernist interior or as a striking counterpoint in a more eclectic setting.
