PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

An elegant small round side table, this refined guéridon combines a polished brass framework with shelves of glass edged and surrounded by silvered mirror. The circular form, classically proportioned, is given an extra decorative dimension by the use of silvered mirror around the shelf surfaces — the mirror reflecting and multiplying the objects placed upon it, creating an effect of shimmering lightness and visual depth. The warm tone of the brass frame provides a luxurious contrast to the cool silver of the mirror edging, the two metals complementing each other with considerable sophistication.

The guéridon — a small round occasional table on a central support or tripod base — has been a fixture of the French interior since the 17th century, its compact scale making it indispensable for holding a lamp, a vase or a glass. By the 1970s, French designers were revisiting these traditional forms with a modernist vocabulary, combining classic proportions with new material combinations — brass with glass, chrome with mirror — to produce pieces that honoured the tradition while embracing the spirit of the age. The use of silvered mirror in this context recalls the great mirror furniture of the Art Deco period, updated for a new generation.

This side table would be a charming and practical addition to any room — equally useful as a drinks table, a lamp table or a bedside surface. Its round form, modest scale and combination of brass and mirror give it a timeless quality that allows it to move between period and contemporary settings with ease. It catches the light beautifully and renders any space more luminous and animated.
