PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This bar cart features a gilt brass structure with two black glass tiers set within moulded frames. The black-lacquered tapered uprights, in slender spindles, connect the two levels with great graphic elegance. The whole rests on two large rear spoked wheels of brass highlighted in black and on small castors at the front; the curved handle, sheathed in black, makes the piece easy to move.
The contrast of gilt brass and black lacquer, the slender spindles and the large spoked wheels are characteristic of Italian elegance of the 1950s and allow this work to be associated with the spirit of Cesare Lacca, whose refined trolleys are among the most admired of this period.
Condition report: Good general condition. Brass with a fine gilt patina, even black lacquer, glass possibly presenting likely surface micro-scratches inherent to use. A trolley full of charm, ideal as a bar cart in a sitting room or dining room.
